Product Information

AccuPoint is a new “absolute” movement-tracking system that makes computer technology accessible for people who are unable to operate a standard keyboard and mouse due to spinal cord injuries and other disabilities.

The concept behind AccuPoint is simple. A cluster of reflective dots is affixed to the user’s head (or fingers or toes) and the AccuPoint tracking device links the cluster to the computer cursor, allowing even novice users to easily control the cursor with movements as small as one-eighth of an inch. Research at the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital demonstrated that Absolute Tracking™ technology is up to 38% more efficient than relative tracking systems – significantly reducing the amount of work required to access the computer while simultaneously increasing ease of use.

Text is input using the on-screen keyboard, while mouse clicks are input via alternative switches, such as InvoTek’s Voice Switch, a sip-and-puff pneumatic switch, or by dwell-clicking. Switches are not included with AccuPoint.
